The Warehouse Vist with Vivobarefoot Japan, Nomadics, & Moonlight Gear 🌾

During our trip to Japan, we took a break from the bustling streets of Tokyo to visit our friends at Vivobarefoot Japan, Nomatics, and Moonlight Gear at their collective farm in the neighboring Saitama prefecture. Now, Tokyo locals love to joke about Saitama, calling it "dasaitama"—basically saying it’s a landlocked place with “nothing,” no mountains, and no ocean. But trust us, you don’t want to bring up that joke with these folks! They’ll quickly tell you that Saitama is a hidden gem, offering a peaceful, healthy lifestyle away from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo.
We absolutely loved the vibe at The Warehouse. It’s their community space where every Wednesday, the whole team swaps office hours for time spent on the farm. They come together to plant and tend to crops they all grow as a team. Farming, it turns out, is all about teamwork and sharing knowledge, with each person contributing in their own way.
What really resonated with us was how it aligns with our core values of a Beginner Mindset and Mood Follows Action. Taking the time to learn something new, like farming, and feeling the mood boost from digging in the dirt—it’s amazing what a little time with the earth can do for you!
We spent hours in the fields, getting our hands dirty, skating around the roads near the farm, and sharing fresh bread and fruits. The whole group was incredibly kind and had such a great energy.
As a bonus, they drove us to the Vivobarefoot workshop they were building, and we were so inspired by the connection between nature, land, and creativity. We can’t wait to see what the Vivobarefoot Japan team comes up with in the next few seasons!
A huge thank you to everyone for their warmth and generosity. If you’re in Tokyo, don’t miss out on the Vivobarefoot shop in Shibuya and Moonlight Gear in Chiyoda City.
We’re already planning our next visit to The Warehouse to check on how those green onions are growing!✌🏼
